Youth-led Program Development
Youth-led program development occurs on two levels at SCCS. The formal Youth-led Program Development Committee is a standing committee with its own discretionary funds. The Committee generates program ideas and considers program proposals submitted by local youth.
Less formally, SCCS program participants meet regularly with program staff to choose and organize program activities on an ongoing basis. Youth-led program development gives youth the opportunity to ‘learn-by-doing’ how to develop and implement programs in a community-based non-profit organization. Through hands-on experience youth:

Build relationships of mutual respect with community members of all ages. |

Gain practical knowledge and experience in project planning and the fundamentals of fiscal management. |
